My work

I could write clever little snippets about how great my writing is all day, but I’m sure you’d rather read it for yourself. Fair enough! Below, you’ll find a few of my favourite projects from recent years.

If you’re looking for a writing sample that you don’t see here, just ask. I’ve written a ton of assets for a ton of brands—I probably have a relevant example to share!

How Chantel Dooley of Dazzle Pools found a partner in success with Skimmer [Customer story]

In 2024, I was asked to interview and profile five business owners for Skimmer, an app that helps entrepreneurs in pool service run and grow their businesses. Their stories were as fun to hear firsthand as they were to write. This is one of those stories.

After the Great Resignation, many are asking themselves, “What’s next?” [Blog post]

For the Dropbox Work in Progress blog, I interviewed a number of people who, after quitting their jobs, were now asking themselves some of life’s bigger, more unwieldy questions. Together, they paint a compelling picture of the future of work.

Migrating to TypeScript Without Migraines [Blog post]

In 2021, I partnered with Wealthsimple to write a number of posts for their Maker Blog. During this time, I interviewed Wealthsimple’s technical teams about big challenges or projects they worked through, then turned those stories into very human, very readable stories. I had a lot of fun writing this story about migrating from Flow to TypeScript.

You’re on your own [eBook]

When Mark Nichols approached me in 2025, he had already started to write a fantastic eBook. He just needed help getting it over the finish line. My involvement was a mix of editing and further writing to continue his already-excellent narrative. Once published, this eBook spent some time as the top Business Consulting eBook on Amazon. Not bad!

But don’t take my word for it!

Sarah is a talented copywriter. This first sentence might seem expected and overused, but in her case, it’s the most accurate description of her ability. She is a delight to work with, has the ability to quickly digest briefs and produce sound output against them. She asks for clarification when needed and provides up-leveled copy that often goes beyond what’s been asked of her. I will keep her on our freelance roster as long as there’s work for her to do.
— Daniel Reiter, Creative Director
I reached out to Sarah to create five unique customer stories. She was the perfect choice for this project. Sarah quickly found what made each interviewee— and their story— compelling. She wrote relatable, readable, and very human customer stories that highlight our value prop, which we are now able to use across the whole business. Most importantly, she made each of the customers that she interviewed feel at ease. They’re all extremely happy with the way we captured and told their stories and continue to be advocates for the brand.
— Jes Ellacott, Director, Brand and Content, Skimmer
It’s one thing to find a skilled writer who can dig deep on a complex topic and turn it into a compelling story. Sarah does that exceptionally well, and can do so across a variety of industries and verticals. But what sets her apart as a writer and creative partner is how easy she makes that process. She’s a wonderful communicator who grasps new systems and concepts easily. She’s also an expert interviewer who captures people’s original stories and insights while connecting on a human level with the person she’s speaking with.
